About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct the safe and efficient operation of the department
Perform simple production operations
Monitor and drive plant performance indicators
Align priorities with production demand
Train employees on the safe and proper setup and operation of mill equipment
Solve problems daily
Communicate production needs with other support groups
Work the 3rd shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–3:30 a.m., with overtime as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school or equivalent
1+ years’ experience in tube mill and/or roll forming process functions
1 to 3 years involved with mill setups and manufacturing processes
Experience with special measuring devices, micrometer, calipers, and tape measures
Experience managing and leading 10+ employees at a time
Basic math and mechanical skills
Ability to train employees in the safe and proper way to set up and operate mill equipment
Flexibility with production hours
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English sufficient to understand job terminology
Ability to follow the dress code
Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to manage people, personalities, and challenges
Ability to meet negotiated timeframes supporting customer demands
5-S training is a plus
Lean training is a plus
Ability to maintain a safe, productive working environment
Ability to react quickly to changing situations and priorities
Ability to communicate production needs with support groups
