About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support to achieve a safe work environment, high-quality products, and efficient production processes.
  • Interact hands-on with shop floor personnel, quality, engineering, and other manufacturing groups.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Research and analyze materials, tools, fixtures, and processes for efficient manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify, plan, and implement process enhancements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement events and apply lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Identify and validate savings opportunities involving labor, materials, and process improvements.
  • Provide production troubleshooting support.
  • Design tools, fixtures, production aids, and manufacturing cell layouts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for projects, fixtures, tooling, assemblies, standard work, and work instructions.
  • Develop and document manufacturing change requests.
  • Apply lean fundamentals to line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow, continuous flow optimization, and equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with the continuous improvement team on Kaizen events, projects, and immediate improvement implementations.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, yield, scrap, rework, and downtime.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with governance policies, regulations, laws, AADG programs, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and production systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering-related software applications.
