About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and launch new products from concept through production
  • Lead and contribute to product design and development while meeting customer, safety, and manufacturing requirements
  • Develop product specifications, 3D models, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Perform simulations, prototyping, and testing to validate design concepts
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, quality, product management, production, supply chain, sales, and suppliers
  • Source materials and components for prototypes and production
  • Ensure product manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
  • Manage the complete product development lifecycle from ideation through production launch
  • Create and maintain project timelines and participate in design reviews and stakeholder updates
  • Conduct functional, environmental, and durability testing
  • Analyze test data and adjust designs as needed
  • Ensure products meet regulatory and quality standards
  • Implement improvements to product design and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Stay current with technology, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Experience with FEA, DFM, and DFMEA highly desirable
  • Experience developing electromechanical products involving electrical controls, automation systems, sensors, motors, actuators, or industrial equipment preferred
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems and HMI interfaces highly desirable
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent is a plus
  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing, and product assembly
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and detail-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to read, create, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
  • Understanding of PLCs, relays, contactors, VFDs, motor starters, sensors, encoders, and communication devices
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing certifications are a plus
