About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate the mill and equipment to ensure continuous operation during the shift
  • Prioritize safety, quality, and production priorities
  • Keep the mill operational
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized 5S work area
  • Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill setups
  • Perform TPM on processes and equipment
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor
  • Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
  • Minimize scrap
  • Work hands-on with maintenance to resolve issues promptly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Experience using special measuring devices, calipers, and tape measure
  • Ability to navigate and set up equipment controllers for proper operation and parts programming
  • Roll tooling experience with setups and changeovers
  • Ability to change out press dies, cut-off jaws, and blades, and refill equipment oil levels
  • Ability to meet negotiated time frames
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification
  • Experience with robot programming
  • Ability to document downtime through a reporting system for KPI tracking
  • Good communication skills with coworkers and material handlers
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and mill conditions
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities
