About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate tube mill equipment to ensure continuous operation during the shift
- Focus on keeping the mill operational
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized 5S work area
- Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill setups
- Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) on process equipment
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor
- Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
- Minimize scrap
- Work hands-on with maintenance to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Prioritize safety, quality, and production priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED Equivalent
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Experience using special measuring devices, including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
- Ability to read OEM-supplied setup charts and interpret them for roll tooling adjustments
- Ability to change out cutoff jaws and blades and refill equipment oil levels
- Ability to meet negotiated scheduling time frames
- Ability to document downtime through a reporting system for KPI tracking
- Good communication skills with coworkers and material handlers
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and mill conditions
- Ability to contribute as a valued team member in continuous improvement activities
- Entry-level position
- No travel required
