About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate tube mill equipment to ensure continuous operation during the shift
- Keep the mill operational
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized 5S work area
- Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill setups
- Perform TPM of process and equipment in the area
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor
- Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
- Minimize scrap
- Work hands-on with maintenance to resolve issues promptly
- Document downtime to support KPI tracking
- Support proper product tagging with the material handler
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED Equivalent
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Experience using special measuring devices, including micrometer, calipers, and tape measure
- Ability to read OEM-supplied set-up charts and interpret them for roll tooling adjustments
- Ability to change out cut-off jaws and blades and refill equipment oil levels
- Ability to meet negotiated scheduling time frames
- Ability to document downtime through a reporting system for KPI tracking
- Good communication skills with coworkers and material handlers
- Ability to react to schedule changes and mill conditions
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities
