About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assume full technical ownership of the revolving door product range
Coordinate a multidisciplinary R&D team spanning hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering
Set priorities and align engineering work with portfolio priorities
Coach and develop engineers and foster technical excellence, structured problem-solving, continuous professional development, stronger decision-making, and ownership
Drive the full product development lifecycle from concept and validation through industrialisation and ongoing lifecycle improvements
Ensure adherence to applicable safety and quality standards, including ISO, CE, EN16005, and UL
Define and execute the R&D strategy and establish the product roadmap
Align product development with portfolio and business targets
Manage R&D resources, budgets, and timelines
Embed sustainability principles across product development
Identify opportunities to enhance product performance and design
Evaluate IoT, connectivity, AI, and other emerging technologies across the product range
Represent the product in customer meetings, trade shows, and industry forums
Maintain stakeholder alignment across product management, manufacturing, quality, commercial product management, and global ASSA ABLOY divisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field
Solid background in R&D for electromechanical products through hands-on engineering, product development, or early-career coordination roles
Demonstrated experience managing the full product development lifecycle, from concept and validation through industrialisation and continuous improvement
Strong understanding of systems, spare parts, and lifecycle stewardship
Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, firmware, and mechanical disciplines
Familiarity with safety and quality standards such as ISO, CE, EN16005, and UL
Familiarity with revolving doors, door mechanics, drive systems, sensors, or embedded control units is advantageous
Technical curiosity, analytical strength, and motivation to grow into a product ownership role
Interest in emerging technologies such as IoT, connectivity, and AI
Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential
Additional languages are an advantage
Willingness to undergo background screening if required
