About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Observe equipment operations, detect malfunctions, and notify operators
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists
  • Count finished products to determine whether product orders are complete
  • Mark or tag identification on parts
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances
  • Supply or hold materials and tools and clean work areas, equipment, doors, and frame components
  • Clean and lubricate equipment
  • Record the number of products inspected and production dates and times
  • Perform other assigned tasks at the direction of supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience
  • Mechanical ability
  • Reading various dimensional metrology instruments
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control
  • Ability to use forklifts, hammers, power hoists, hand jacks, pipe jacks, platform ladders, screwdrivers, material-hoisting slings, measuring tapes, hand tools, measuring instruments, and power tools such as saws
  • Knowledge of mechanical machines, paint systems, and assembly operations
  • Ability to work in normal manufacturing-environment conditions
