About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities according to ASSA ABLOY Group reporting requirements
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and provisions
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial statements
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
- Support monthly management reporting and financial analysis
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with Portuguese accounting, tax, and statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities
- Prepare and review VAT, Intrastat, and other regulatory filings
- Monitor internal controls and compliance with Group policies and procedures
- Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities
- Participate in regional and global finance projects
- Provide stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information
- Contribute to continuous improvement, accountability, and financial discipline
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certified Accountant (OCC) or working towards a professional accounting qualification is desirable
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance roles
- Experience with Portuguese accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
- Experience in a multinational environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach
- Fluent Portuguese and English, written and spoken
