About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day technical leadership, including planning, prioritisation and coordination of work
- Coach and support engineers, encourage knowledge sharing and develop technical capability
- Act as a contact for network infrastructure across global regions
- Work with customers and colleagues worldwide on service enquiries, incidents, changes and improvements
- Gather stakeholder requirements and translate them into practical solutions
- Contribute to network architecture, design standards, roadmaps and service catalogue development
- Review service performance, metrics and SLAs, and lead improvement activities
- Present technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain clear, current operational processes, routines and documentation
- Optimise 24/7 operations and delivery
- Perform hands-on architecture, design, implementation, troubleshooting and documentation for wireless and LAN services
- Link engineers, customers, service management and external providers to improve global network services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a team lead, technical lead or senior engineer who has coordinated and guided others
- At least ten years of experience in network infrastructure, including significant hands-on work in projects or complex enterprise environments
- Very strong knowledge of LAN, WiFi, routing and switching
- Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless technologies, including WLC, Catalyst Center and Cisco ISE
- Experience working with global service providers, partners and distributed teams
- Good understanding of service management, SLAs, operational processes and continuous improvement
- Strong skills in technical design, documentation, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication
- Customer-focused, structured and proactive approach
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Experience with agile ways of working (nice to have)
- Background in customer-facing engineering, consulting, professional services, presales, post-sales or product development (nice to have)
- Experience contributing to service roadmaps, service catalogues and vendor evaluations (nice to have)
- Relevant Cisco certifications or equivalent practical expertise (nice to have)
