About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create, engineer, and produce door and hardware specifications for commercial building applications
- Recommend door and hardware solutions addressing security, aesthetics, sustainability, and accessibility
- Design electrified access control product and software systems for door openings
- Work with Architectural Sales Representatives to support positive customer experiences and deliver projects on time
- Assist with project submittal reviews and substitution approval processes
- Use Salesforce.com for customer relationship management, project tracking, and time management
- Support architectural firms and design professionals with technical, functional, and code-compliant door opening applications
Requirements
What you’ll need- College/University degree preferred, especially in architectural design/engineering, construction science/management, or similar, or work experience commensurate with a minimum high school/GED diploma
- Minimum of 2–3 years of industry-related experience with openings, such as commercial locksmith, door frames/hardware installer, contractor’s license for installation, or CHD project manager with school, healthcare, or institutional facilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting
- Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus
- Ability to read and understand specifications and facility standards
- Industry-related technical and sales aptitude
- Ability to travel and meet customer requirements
- Ability to work in a home office environment or while traveling
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material
- Strong communication, active listening, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
