About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Repair metal stamping dies, including sharpening, cleaning, and refurbishing
- Repair and maintain tube mill cut-off dies
- Work with press and mill operators to remedy part quality issues
- Support the maintenance department with machining needs and projects
- Machine die components and other plant components using mills, lathes, surface grinders, and CNC equipment
- Set up and tear down roll-form tooling
- Clean and polish roll-form tooling
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- Tech School
- Formal Apprenticeship/Journeyman
- 5 or more years of experience making or maintaining metal stamping dies
- Experience with roll form tooling and processes
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues in the press or on roll forming mills
- 5 or more years of manual machining experience with knee mills, toolroom lathes, bandsaws, surface grinders
- Experience running and programming CNC lathes and mills using conversational programming
- Ability to program a wire EDM machine with MasterCam
- Experience welding tool steel and other ferrous metals
- Ability to work first shift, Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with overtime as required
