About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Shape product direction by defining experience vision, surfacing opportunities, and influencing roadmap decisions
Lead complex design initiatives from discovery through launch
Design understandable and trustworthy AI experiences for clinic staff, patients, and internal operators
Connect experiences across products, resolve fragmented workflows, and build scalable patterns
Define success metrics and improve adoption, retention, and expansion using research, product data, and customer feedback
Evolve the design system and strengthen collaboration with Engineering
Mentor designers, provide critique, and communicate design reasoning
Partner with Engineering, Product, and GTM leadership to identify problems and influence priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Track record of shipping complex digital products and leading design initiatives spanning teams or product areas
Startup experience strongly preferred
Experience shaping product strategy through design
Experience designing for multiple personas and interconnected workflows, ideally in complex healthcare or AI-driven products
Strong product judgment and measurable customer and business outcomes
Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, exceptional interaction and visual design, full workflows, edge cases, and design decisions
Ability to lead through influence, build alignment, navigate disagreement, and make decisions amid ambiguity
Hands-on ability to move between product strategy, detailed execution, and iteration with Engineering
Deep Figma expertise and experience building scalable components, patterns, and design systems
Fluency using AI tools for exploration, research synthesis, prototyping, and communication
Comfort using Figma Make and Cursor
Experience as an early design hire or founding designer preferred
Experience designing AI interactions involving uncertainty, human oversight, and user trust preferred
Design engineering experience and interest in contributing production UI, reusable components, or design system infrastructure preferred
