About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle inbound calls regarding automobile insurance claims
  • Provide customer service by entering new claims into the system
  • Assign new claims to the appropriate adjuster
  • Assist customers with existing claims
  • Complete administrative and clerical duties
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and maintain key metrics, including an abandon rate of 80% and maximum auxiliary time of 30 minutes per day
  • Send relevant correspondence internally to the appropriate adjuster and, if necessary, externally to the policyholder
  • Provide acceptable phone coverage
  • Develop additional skills and demonstrate a desire to advance within the claims department
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 6 months of experience in a customer service/customer support environment
  • Excellent PC skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced automated production environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • High degree of motivation and team orientation
  • Preferred: Undergraduate degree
  • Preferred: Experience in claims or a call center
