About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, test, and ship features for production AI systems, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and model orchestration components
- Write and maintain evaluation cases and test suites to catch regressions in AI system quality
- Implement and iterate on prompts, tool/function definitions, and guardrails using evaluation results
- Contribute to services, APIs, and data pipelines supporting AI features, including instrumentation, logging, and dashboards
- Investigate production issues such as latency spikes, cost anomalies, quality regressions, and failed tool calls
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and post-incident analyses
- Work with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to turn requirements into working software and flag tradeoffs early
- Keep documentation and runbooks current
- Work alongside senior engineers while developing deeper technical ownership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, or C#
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into an application, including prompting, structured outputs, and function/tool calling, through professional work, internships, or substantive personal projects
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, databases, version control, testing, and debugging
- Curiosity about how AI systems behave in the real world and willingness to measure results
- Clear written and verbal communication and comfort asking for help and giving updates
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, or LangChain
- Exposure to vector databases, embedding models, or semantic search
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization with Docker or Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tooling
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent
- Awareness of responsible AI practices, including safety testing, content filtering, and bias considerations
- Open-source contributions, technical writing, or side projects involving LLMs
- Employment is contingent upon completion of a required identity verification process
