About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage AstraZeneca US import/export activities
  • Provide customs guidance to cross-functional business partners
  • Lead issue resolution and communicate directly with government agencies and key stakeholders
  • Manage daily and yearly FTZ operations, including admissions to Customs, T&Es, HMF, zone-to-zone transfers, FTZ Board reports, and payments to the grantee
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on trade-related activities for the site
  • Support rollout of new AstraZeneca FTZs and develop operational standards, procedures, and training
  • Maintain relationships with global counterparts to ensure compliant global supply-chain operations
  • Support FTZ manufacturing sites, conduct tours and training, host Customs for annual compliance reviews, and represent FTZ operations on site projects and strategic initiatives
  • Develop relationships with participating sites, international cross-functional teams, Customs Broker, and Customs and Border Protection
  • Revitalize standard operating procedures for FTZs covering customs broker clearance, FTZ inventory systems, record retention, and training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Customs Brokerage or import/export operations or compliance
  • Working knowledge of government agencies and regulations involved with importing/exporting pharmaceutical products, including CBP, FDA, USDA, CDC, DEA, DOT, IATA, and FWS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Customs Broker License preferred
  • FTZ Experience preferred
