About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s renal marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development
  • Engage in scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and Healthcare Professionals
  • Identify and engage key customers, researchers, and study investigators
  • Develop peer-level relationships aligned with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategies
  • Uncover barriers to optimal disease management and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide actionable scientific information to internal stakeholders
  • Respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information
  • Deliver clinical and scientific information differentiating AstraZeneca products
  • Follow internal processes and regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Maintain expertise in disease-state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape
  • Provide clinical support and deliver regional and national data presentations
  • Lead and manage field medical and therapeutic-area projects
  • Train and mentor others in the therapeutic area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced Clinical/Science Degree required (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA-C, etc. – BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered)
  • 3 years experience in a Clinical or Commercial setting
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare system landscape
  • Established networks and clinical experience within TA area focus
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent project management ability
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment
  • Ability to travel 50-70%
  • Established experience delivering quality improvement initiatives
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry (desirable)
  • Established track record of basic or clinical research (desirable)
