About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a sales territory focused on academic centers, hospital systems, hospitals, private practices, and infusion centers, primarily in Hematology
- Grow and expand the PNH portfolio and other products following FDA approval for appropriate specialists
- Achieve or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory
- Create and maintain strategically targeted, account-specific business plans
- Develop and maintain clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge
- Educate healthcare stakeholders on disease states, differential diagnosis, testing, and treatment
- Utilize marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations
- Collaborate with aHUS RAMs, TLLs, SALs, MSLs, Market Access, FRMs, PEMs, Diagnostics, and enterprise partners
- Implement a patient-centric partnership model involving physicians, staff, patients, clinics, and hospitals
- Execute local promotional activities and therapeutic-area programs
- Provide product expertise and customer service to accounts
- Track activities and submit accurate, timely sales reports
- Demonstrate proper product use to clinicians in hospital environments
- Handle customer questions and objections compliantly and triage inquiries appropriately
- Manage time, CRM tools, resources, and workload efficiently
- Interact proactively with Alexion management to refine product and market initiatives
- Work professionally in accordance with company policies and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device) or 5 years’ experience in a medical setting
- Proven, documented track record for delivering consistent, 'Top-tier' sales results in institutions and hospital systems
- Ability to work effectively independently and in an interdependent, team-oriented environment
- Strong clinical and account selling, analytical and strategic skills to develop accounts
- Demonstrated ability to seek out and qualify leads and profile new accounts
- Ability to gain consistent access and develop professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
- Must live in the geographic territory or within 50 miles of the geographic territory border
- Ability to travel within territory regularly, including frequent overnight and weekend travel
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane; work in a clinical setting; use a computer; communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex analysis and dialogue; collaborate; and maintain availability during standard business hours
