About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Professionally represent Alexion in educating HPP disease customers and identifying patients impacted by HPP
  • Increase visibility of Alexion’s disease awareness initiatives and customer satisfaction in the assigned territory
  • Implement sales, marketing, disease, diagnostic, and branded programs
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers
  • Consistently achieve or exceed sales objectives
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the product, market, and customers
  • Develop and implement strategically targeted, account-specific territory business plans aligned with corporate strategy
  • Manage the territory and analyze market dynamics to meet territory sales goals
  • Develop and maintain strong clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge
  • Seek and qualify leads and profile new accounts
  • Educate healthcare providers on the diagnostic approach to HPP, differential diagnosis, and appropriate patient testing
  • Utilize marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations
  • Lead implementation of a patient-centric partnership model with physicians, staff, clinics, and hospitals
  • Provide product expertise and customer service to accounts
  • Make persuasive sales calls to designated customers resulting in sales of Alexion products
  • Collaborate with TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRMs, Market Access, Diagnostics, and other Enterprise partners
  • Interact proactively with Alexion management to refine product and market initiatives
  • Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources, workload, and administrative responsibilities
  • Submit accurate and timely sales activity reports
  • Perform work in alignment with Alexion’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and company policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in life science and/or business/marketing
  • Proven, documented track record for delivering consistent ‘Top-tier’ sales results and consistent track record of success (Top 20% performance)
  • Minimum 5 years Pharmaceutical or Equivalent Experience (e.g. Biotech or Medical Device)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to gain consistent access and develop strong, professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in community and academic centers
  • Demonstrated strategic territory management successes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel minimum 50–60% within assigned territory, including frequent overnight and some weekend travel
  • Ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane
  • Ability to work comfortably in a clinical setting
  • Ability to use a computer and communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging
  • Ability to problem solve and engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue
  • Ability to collaborate with others and maintain general availability during standard business hours
  • Advanced or master’s degree preferred
  • Biopharma experience preferred
  • Top tier awards preferred, e.g. President’s Club Award
  • Strong preference for sales experience in Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Medical Genetics, or with physicians treating bone disorders
  • Enzyme Replacement Therapy product experience preferred
  • Orphan, Ultra-Orphan, or rare disease experience preferred
  • Nephrology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Rheumatology specialty experience preferred
  • Self-injected product experience preferred
  • Institution/academic center account experience preferred
