About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represent Alexion in educating hypophosphatasia (HPP) disease customers and identifying patients impacted by HPP
- Increase visibility of Alexion disease-awareness initiatives and customer satisfaction within the territory
- Implement sales, marketing, disease, diagnostic, and branded programs
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers
- Achieve or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the product, market, and customers
- Develop and implement account-specific territory business plans aligned with corporate strategy
- Manage the territory and analyze market dynamics to meet sales goals
- Develop and maintain strong clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge
- Seek and qualify leads and profile new accounts
- Educate customers on diagnostic approaches, differential diagnosis, and appropriate patient-population testing
- Use marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations
- Lead implementation of a patient-centric partnership model with physicians, staff, clinics, and hospitals
- Provide product expertise and customer service to all accounts
- Make persuasive sales calls resulting in sales of Alexion products
- Collaborate with TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRM, Market Access, Diagnostics, and other enterprise partners
- Interact proactively with Alexion management to refine product and market initiatives
- Manage time, priorities, CRM tools, resources, and workload
- Submit accurate and timely sales-activity reports
- Perform work in alignment with Alexion’s Code of Ethics, Business Conduct, policies, and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in life science and/or business/marketing
- Proven, documented track record of consistent top-tier sales results, with Top 20% performance
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical or equivalent experience, such as biotech or medical device
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to gain access to and develop professional relationships with healthcare providers in community and academic centers
- Demonstrated strategic territory management success
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel 50–60% within the assigned territory, including frequent overnight and some weekend travel
- Ability to work in a field environment and clinical setting
- Ability to use computers and communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging
- Ability to problem-solve and engage in complex analysis and dialogue
- Advanced or master’s degree preferred
- Biopharma experience preferred
- Top-tier awards, such as President’s Club Award, preferred
- Sales experience in Endocrinology, Medical Genetics, or with physicians treating bone disorders strongly preferred
- Enzyme Replacement Therapy product experience preferred
- Orphan, ultra-orphan, or rare disease experience preferred
- Nephrology, orthopedic surgery, and rheumatology specialty experience preferred
- Self-injected product experience preferred
- Institution or academic center account experience preferred
