About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage Associate Directors – Territory Operations Management assigned to the region
- Oversee expansion of AstraZeneca cell therapy territories and alignment on company-wide goals across clinical and commercial products
- Provide subject matter expertise in operational, clinical, and site infrastructure for cell therapy trials and commercial products
- Lead regional cross-functional activities with internal partners
- Develop and implement regional operational plans, targets, and activation forecasts
- Build and maintain relationships with site partners, healthcare professionals, and regional stakeholders
- Contribute to SOPs and guidance documents and ensure site quality parameters are met
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for team members
- Lead business change management and conduct process maturity assessments for site activation and post-activation
- Analyze regional market and site dynamics and identify opportunities, roadblocks, and solutions across therapeutic areas
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations, SMM, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Medical, IT leadership, and other teams to operationalize cell therapy products and prepare sites
- Drive continuous improvements and solutions enhancing patient care throughout the cell therapy product lifecycle
- Present patient operational reports and regional plans to senior management
- Maintain knowledge of and follow activation goals, processes, regulatory standards, compliance, procedures, and company values
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, IT, or Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience working within a Cell Therapy Program as an Operational Champion/Other, in a healthcare/pharmaceutical environment, directly working with patients and/or healthcare providers
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Cell Therapy leadership role
- Ability to develop and execute operational strategies in cell therapy
- Change management experience and ability to resolve complex problems promptly
- Flexibility to provide support outside regular business hours for emergent patient cases
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
- Understanding of the healthcare customer environment and hospital regulations
- Experience working in a matrix organization with complex IT systems or portals supporting customer service, healthcare scheduling, supply chain management, and call centers
- Familiarity with heavily regulated, quality-control environments and strict SOPs
