About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and lead global medical strategies within the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism therapy area
- Guide cross-functional and cross-regional teams to deliver ambitious goals
- Shape global medical agendas through Global Medical Team, Global Product Team, and Disease Area Team leadership
- Partner with Medical and Commercial functions across markets and regions
- Lead strategy and transformation initiatives, including product and disease-area strategies and practice-change initiatives
- Apply healthcare-system, regulatory, market-access, and competitive insights to shape markets and prepare for launches and lifecycle management
- Lead evidence-generation strategies involving clinical trials, registries, and real-world evidence studies
- Guide optimization, communication, and rollout of evidence across scientific platforms
- Leverage digital health, AI, advanced analytics, and data platforms to transform evidence communication and stakeholder engagement
- Build relationships with global and regional KOLs, professional societies, regulators, payers, patient organizations, technology innovators, and health systems
- Mentor and guide cross-functional teams and champion scientific leadership
- Ensure clinical trial and evidence-generation initiatives meet scientific and regulatory requirements
- Anticipate evolving regulatory and payer evidence requirements and ensure compliant data generation and communication
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline required (MD, PhD, PharmD)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry or leadership experience in health systems, academia, research, or other relevant healthcare settings
- Demonstrated leadership in complex, global healthcare environments
- Experience shaping strategy, driving performance, leading large and diverse cross-functional teams, and delivering major product, evidence, or healthcare transformation initiatives
- Significant expertise in healthcare system pathways, regulatory landscapes, market-shaping, and external stakeholder engagement
- Strong track record of internal and external network building and collaboration across geographies and matrix teams
- Effective mentoring of junior colleagues or peers
- Digital and AI proficiency, including digital health tools, AI, and data platforms
- Deep understanding of patient care pathways, evolving treatment protocols, scientific literature, and healthcare transformation
- Ability to guide, influence, and align diverse stakeholders, including thought leaders, regulatory bodies, patient groups, and payer organisations
- Recognized or transferable expertise in cardiovascular, renal, or related therapeutic areas is desirable
- Advanced experience with clinical research programs, pivotal clinical trials (Phases 2–4), RWE studies, and innovative evidence-generation approaches is desirable
- Experience in Medical Affairs, Marketing, R&D, or Market Access is desirable
