About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategic and operational planning of statistical contributions to Development Plans, Regulatory Strategy and Submissions, Health Technology Assessment, and Commercial support of AstraZeneca products
- Provide product leadership to ensure work complies with AstraZeneca standards and external regulations
- Develop design options and provide high-quality decision support
- Quantify the benefit, risk, value, and uncertainty of the emerging product profile
- Set standards and enforce compliance for statistical work within the product
- Hold CROs and partners accountable for the quality of their deliverables
- Represent AstraZeneca and Statistics to Health Authorities and Reimbursement/Payer Organizations for specific projects and indications
- Investigate and implement statistical approaches for relevant statistical issues, regulatory guidance, and value demonstration
- Maintain understanding of new methodologies, therapy areas, and Development initiatives
- Lead and direct improvement projects, activities, and initiatives, driving best-practice implementation across the group
- Develop contacts with international opinion leaders, consultants, and collaborative groups
- Ensure drug projects are successfully delivered through scientific leadership and resourcing
Requirements
What you’ll need- MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or other related data science majors
- Knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements related to the role
- Experience of regulatory interactions and/or submissions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively with R&D China, global teams, and across functional boundaries internally and externally
- Ability to apply statistical expertise to complex problems, problem solving, and quality focus
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience
- Leadership skill to lead and direct elements of project work
- Accountability for the statistical work
