About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build reusable AWS and on-premise platform capabilities for development, testing, deployment, and application operations
Improve platform documentation, onboarding, training materials, and developer experience
Own the GitLab ecosystem, including CI/CD pipeline optimization, runner management, integrations, repository templates, standardized workflows, and reusable automation components
Create templates, golden paths, and self-service provisioning workflows
Enable software ownership through maintainable repositories, documentation, release processes, automated testing, and development workflows
Improve governance of vendor-delivered software assets, including inventories, repository ownership, source-code policies, acceptance criteria, build and release processes, traceability, and documentation
Develop and maintain standard repository templates and CI/CD frameworks across internal and vendor projects
Automate data processing, simulation workflows, testing, data transformation pipelines, documentation, and reporting
Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana
Coordinate incident response and root-cause analysis
Implement automated patching, configuration control, recovery validation, and security best practices
Mentor engineers on CI/CD, Git workflows, Infrastructure as Code, and platform usage
Collaborate with software, mission, operations, GNC, mechanical, AIV, and other engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or above in IT Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject
3+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Engineering Automation roles
Professional proficiency in Japanese
Strong Linux (Ubuntu) administration experience
Extensive CI/CD experience; GitLab preferred
Strong Git and GitOps knowledge
Experience designing reusable automation workflows
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with software and non-software engineering teams
Desirable: SRE practices, cross-domain engineering support, engineering process automation, software governance, software quality, configuration management, compliance, vendor-developed software asset management, AI/LLM-assisted software development workflows, AWS certifications, technical leadership or mentoring, and English/Japanese bilingual proficiency
