About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and supervise the AT&T Energy team in designing, optimizing, and executing energy infrastructure strategies across existing buildings and network facilities
  • Develop and recommend energy strategies, operating standards, and optimization roadmaps
  • Lead and mentor team members and guide high-impact decisions related to energy performance, capital planning, and operating efficiency
  • Improve HVAC performance, building automation sequences, controls programming, economizer operation, setpoint strategy, scheduling, retro commissioning, and system-level efficiency across a large national portfolio
  • Analyze energy consumption trends and benchmark building performance
  • Identify underperforming sites and resolve complex equipment and controls issues
  • Evaluate short-term and long-term cooling capacity requirements
  • Partner with operations, engineering, real estate, sourcing, finance, and vendor teams to execute energy programs and manage trade partners
  • Maintain compliance documentation and prepare management reporting and operating guidelines
  • Evaluate emerging energy technologies, control platforms, analytics tools, and optimization practices
  • Oversee departmental programs and participate hands-on in strategy design and implementation
  • Influence hiring, firing, disciplinary, promotion, and pay decisions for subordinates
  • Support AT&T environmental compliance related to fuel tanks, generators, boilers, hazardous materials, batteries, construction projects, water discharge, and air emissions as applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Preferred experience includes commercial building energy optimization
  • Experience with building automation systems
  • Experience with controls programming
  • Experience with HVAC sequence development
  • Experience with retro commissioning
  • Experience with measurement and verification
  • Experience with energy analytics
  • Experience with on-site energy generation
  • Experience with emerging energy-saving technologies
  • Expertise in commercial building energy performance, HVAC optimization, control system programming, building automation strategies, and long-term energy reduction opportunities
  • Ability to work full-time in-office five days per week at the designated AT&T work location
  • Ability to support environmental compliance activities as applicable to the job function
