About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Chief Information Officer program through Information Technology Field Operations
- Provide onsite and remote Tier 2 support for hardware, software, applications, network diagnostics, cloud, and other IT services
- Provide LAN administrator support, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, servers, storage arrays, and tape backup units
- Support network-attached devices, mobile devices, wireless devices, smartphones, tablets, hotspots, and specialized equipment
- Test, apply, and maintain server configurations and security patches
- Maintain and check system and backup health, including restore testing
- Monitor ServiceNow assignment groups and troubleshoot tickets
- Update tickets according to documentation templates and guidelines
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports
- Maintain customer inventory records
- Install and maintain video teleconferencing infrastructure and assist with user requests
- Participate in weekly after-hours on-call rotations, special projects, and events
- Conduct or support new equipment deployments
- Provide cabling support in data centers, LAN rooms, and remote wiring closets
- Analyze functional business requirements and design specifications
- Contribute to technical discussions and develop and present briefing materials
- Identify and fix problems in existing systems, implement and enhance systems, and participate in next-generation IT systems analysis and design
- Develop requirements based on customer needs, commercially available IT products, and COTS products
- Report to an Area Technical Lead while supporting 24x7 LANs and associated applications, peripherals, connectivity, and end users
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ years’ of IT-related support experience, preferably in a helpdesk or customer support role
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop, network, or other IT issues
- General knowledge network products and systems
- Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
- Must have excellent team skills and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must pass Motor Vehicle Records check; position is classified as a “Regular Driver”
- Must maintain a state of travel readiness for local and/or overnight travel to Government locations
- Must be comfortable working in a Law Enforcement environment, including locations similar to detention facilities, prisons, or jails
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to social distancing requirements when entering certain facilities
- Prior experience providing technical enterprise support within a large, complex organization
- Experience evaluating system performance results and recommending improvements or optimizations
- Experience performing IT hardware repairs and installing replacement parts
- Experience planning and leading technology assignments and projects
- Prior hands-on experience with the setup, configuration and administration of servers and backups
- Experience functioning as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
- ITIL v4, MCSE, A+, Security+, Network+, or other relevant certifications (desired)
- Outstanding communication skills in formal and informal formats
- Able to access computer and related equipment connections and transport objects or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift
- Required Public Trust clearance
