About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Chief Engineer and Systems Lead in developing and maturing the end-to-end OSS architecture.
- Develop and document system architecture, functional requirements, system interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and integration requirements for OSS capabilities.
- Translate program, technical, operational, security, and performance requirements into detailed system and subsystem requirements.
- Develop and maintain OSS-related content supporting High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD).
- Define and document interfaces between OSS platforms, network infrastructure, security systems, operational tools, and other solution components.
- Evaluate OSS products, technical approaches, and vendor solutions against requirements and architectural objectives.
- Perform technical trade studies and engineering analyses to evaluate design alternatives and support technical decisions.
- Identify technical gaps, dependencies, integration issues, and architectural risks, and develop recommended technical solutions.
- Develop system requirements and interface definitions supporting service monitoring, management, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
- Work with operations personnel to understand workflows and translate needs into technical OSS requirements and capabilities.
- Coordinate with test engineering personnel on OSS verification requirements, integration scenarios, test objectives, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, engineering working groups, technical interchange meetings, and system integration activities.
- Prepare and review architecture diagrams, interface definitions, requirements, engineering analyses, design specifications, and technical decision documentation.
- Maintain traceability between program requirements, system requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, and verification activities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Customer Specific Clearance (#clearable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- Significant experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, network management, telecommunications, or OSS environments.
- Experience designing or integrating OSS capabilities within complex, multi-vendor network environments.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis, architecture, interface definition, integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience with network management capabilities such as fault, configuration, performance, inventory, monitoring, telemetry, and service assurance.
- Experience developing technical requirements, architecture diagrams, interface definitions, and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience supporting large federal government, telecommunications, or mission-critical infrastructure programs.
- Experience with large-scale IP, WAN, SD-WAN, or managed network environments.
- Knowledge of network telemetry, SNMP, APIs, event management, configuration management, topology, inventory, automation, and performance analytics.
- Experience supporting system architecture, laboratory integration, test and evaluation, and production deployment.
