About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of 8-12 Tier II Network Engineers responsible for operations and maintenance of an Intelligence Community communications network.
  • Train, mentor, develop, and hold Tier II personnel accountable.
  • Oversee the health and wellness of Program personnel assigned to the customer location.
  • Manage personnel and material resources to meet or exceed contract SLO/SLA requirements.
  • Task internal, external, and vendor resources for network operations, maintenance, service delivery, recapitalization, and service enhancement projects.
  • Develop and implement local quality control processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure products and services comply with regulatory, quality, program, process, and procedural standards.
  • Serve as technical advisor and Program representative at site, program, and technical exchange meetings.
  • Collaborate with design and implementation engineers on complex network solutions.
  • Collaborate across the Program on process improvement, efficiency, and continual service improvement.
  • Assist the Regional Lead/Hiring Manager with talent acquisition and employee evaluations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Must have experience leading technical network operations teams of 8-12 FTE’s.
  • Experienced in trouble shooting and developing solutions to network issues that prevent the implementation, operation, and maintenance of communications network physical and logical systems.
  • Experienced in Layer 1 and 2 networking concepts and basic routing fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
  • Working knowledge of Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP).
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
