About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, how-to guides, reference materials, programming and service manuals, operational specifications, and other technical publications
- Translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly language for diverse audiences
- Gather and analyze information from customers and technical teams to translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications
- Acquire subject matter knowledge through interviews, production-process observation, and review of technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
- Synthesize information into accurate documentation for print and electronic formats, including training materials, government proposals, websites, and other media
- Oversee illustrative content development and recommend diagrams, charts, graphics, and storyboards
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards
- Develop cataloging systems and maintain records, files, and archives of published materials
- Assist with content for technical seminars, business forums, and presentations
- Contribute to communication efforts supporting customer and organizational objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required TS/SCI with Poly clearance
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technical or lead writing capacity
- Experience developing developer-focused documentation
- Experience collaborating directly with software development teams
- Excellent writing and grammar skills
- Experience using a variety of tools to create templates and manage output styles
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), IC ITE, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other relevant technical concepts outlined in the PWS
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) typically required, with 6–10 years of relevant experience; additional experience or advanced education may be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements
- Highly Desired IAT II certifications: Security+, CySA+, CISSP, etc.
