About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure employees adhere to manufacturing, hygiene, and sanitation standards (GMPs) in all departments
- Conduct production inspection rounds, including metal detector (CCP), seals, weight, and label reviews
- Maintain a consistent presence in assigned production areas
- Conduct visual inspections for GMP violations
- Inspect raw bulk products during production
- Conduct finished goods inspections, including labels, dates/codes, packaging, and quality checklists
- Support production staff in problem-solving efforts
- Support and enforce SQF guidelines, HACCP analyses, and food safety prerequisite programs
- Collect, label, log, bag, and organize samples for laboratory submission
- Verify orders being sent to the laboratory
- Organize daily testing to ensure correct product release
- Check and release products prior to shipment
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report to the FSQA Supervisor and/or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment
- Thorough understanding of HACCP; certification preferred or willingness to obtain it
- Thorough understanding of GMPs and food safety procedures
- Working knowledge of SQF food safety standards; SQF Practitioner certification preferred or willingness to obtain it
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately while maintaining focus for extended periods
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve issues as they arise
- Collaborative team player
- Required to stand and walk for long periods throughout the day (95% floor, 5% computer)
