About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate credit requests and property valuations to support accurate risk assessment and sound credit decisions
- Analyze borrower financial information, repayment capacity, collateral strength, and overall creditworthiness
- Review and validate appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines
- Determine risk levels and approval recommendations
- Evaluate and approve or deny loan applications in a timely manner
- Gather information necessary to make sound lending decisions
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries
- Maintain strong documentation practices
- Partner with lending, operations, and risk teams to support timely, high-quality credit decisions
- Perform other duties as necessary to support department and business-unit goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires 2+ years relevant experience
- May require vocational or technical training
- Basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience
- Ability to evaluate and approve or deny loan applications according to business unit standards
- Ability to gather information and make sound lending decisions
- Ability to analyze borrower financial information, repayment capacity, collateral strength, and overall creditworthiness
- Ability to review and validate appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to guidelines
- Ability to determine risk levels and approval recommendations
- Ability to apply underwriting standards consistently and identify and mitigate potential risks
- May require obtaining and/or maintaining NMLS registration
- Must comply with internal policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards
