About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Golden Child’s positioning, visual identity, and tone of voice
  • Lead the rebrand across customer touchpoints
  • Set creative standards for design, photography, film, and copy
  • Lead creative development for food packaging, shipping materials, and the receiving and serving experience
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and packaging specialists from concept through production
  • Develop packaging systems for new products and future retail channels
  • Guide merchandise and mealtime accessory design
  • Build editorial and content plans around food, veterinary nutrition, and people’s lives with their dogs
  • Develop recurring content formats, including culinary and nutrition films and owner-and-dog portraits
  • Translate technical expertise into accessible stories while maintaining nutritional accuracy
  • Plan long-form films and shorter edits across social, website, email, and paid media
  • Lead campaign concepts and creative execution for the relaunch, product introductions, acquisition, and retention
  • Partner with Growth to develop and test advertising and improve creative using performance findings
  • Translate brand stories into channel-specific assets, including product pages, customer education, and lifecycle communications
  • Shape creator and tastemaker programs and collaborations
  • Guide partner briefs, content concepts, gifting, and campaign integration
  • Identify partnerships across food, hospitality, fashion, beauty, and wellness
  • Lead creative concepts and brand expression for pop-ups, dinners, kitchen visits, and other gatherings
  • Plan pre-event and post-event content and customer follow-up
  • Partner with Growth and Operations on objectives, budgets, and production requirements
  • Build and lead a lean internal creative team with freelancers, agencies, and production partners
  • Own creative briefs, production budgets, schedules, and delivery
  • Establish a reliable early-stage creative production process
  • Direct photography and video production from concept through casting, crews, locations, post-production, and usage rights
  • Determine which capabilities to build internally and which to source externally
  • Work closely with the CMO, founding team, Growth, Culinary, Veterinary Nutrition, Product, and Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in brand and creative roles
  • Leadership of a multidisciplinary team or substantial creative programs
  • Portfolio demonstrating a distinctive point of view and strong execution across several of: brand identity, packaging, campaigns, photography, film, and digital
  • Experience building or evolving a consumer brand, ideally in food, beverage, beauty, wellness, fashion, hospitality, or another design-led category
  • Strong art direction and storytelling skills
  • Ability to give precise feedback on design and copy
  • Experience taking packaging or other physical brand materials through production
  • Experience commissioning and producing photography and video
  • Clear understanding of production budgets and decisions affecting finished work
  • Understanding of paid creative and collaboration with a Growth team
  • Experience managing internal creatives and external collaborators
  • Comfortable developing concepts and staying involved through final details
  • Resourceful, decisive, and energized by building at an early stage
  • Interest in food, design, and the relationship between dogs and their people
  • Portfolio required with an explanation of the applicant’s role in the work shown
