About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Receive material into the facility and distribute it to appropriate points of use
- Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders
- Maintain inventory accuracy and perform inventory counts
- Process jobs sequentially using FIFO
- Manage and track courier deliveries and collections
- Interface with customs, freight forwarders, and clearing agents worldwide
- Identify, investigate, and process inventory discrepancies
- Load and unload deliveries manually and via forklift truck
- Ensure timely dispatch of sales orders
- Update spreadsheets for export and import compliance
- Process non-conforming stock through reject procedures
- Identify improvement opportunities and help document processes
- Assemble accessories and small pick-and-pack assemblies for Genevac product lines
- Inspect components using gauges and tools
- Record products assembled and tested
- Support production departments with inspection, small assembly, and ad hoc administration
Requirements
What you’ll need- A good team player with the ability to work without supervision
- Good communications skills
- IT literate, MS Office, use of the Internet
- Positive approach
- Ability to seek and implement improvement opportunities
- Quality awareness
- Knowledge of import export procedures and customs requirements
- Very organised with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of working within a receiving and/or distribution environment
- Manual Handling Operations and EHS expectations when moving a variety of weights
- Kinetic Lifting Methods
- Experience in mechanical assembly within a light engineering environment
- HMRC customs compliance
