About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision through the full claim lifecycle, including investigation, evaluation, and resolution
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge of Company insurance products
- Learn and comply with Company claim-handling procedures
- Develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills
- Serve agents, insureds, and other parties effectively
- Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties
- Develop specialized skills, including estimating and using designated computer-based loss-adjustment programs
- Complete the Company’s claims training program for the assigned insurance line
- Study, obtain, and maintain adjuster licenses when required by statute, within Company or legal timelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling
- Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write reports and compose correspondence
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
- Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry (area and volume) and financial areas such as sums, unit costs, and personal and business finance documents
- Ability to drive an automobile
- Valid driver license and driving record consistent with the Company’s underwriting guidelines
- Ability to continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs
- Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
