About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales efforts at all levels within the assigned territory
  • Execute sales strategies individually and using a team approach
  • Prospect new accounts, develop relationships, and sell the Autocar value proposition to close new business
  • Target “Top 20” companies, fleets, and contractors
  • Deliver profitable growth and increased market share
  • Develop and manage relationships with key Construction-sector accounts and large fleet customers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional fleet customers
  • Develop strategies tailored to Construction fleet customers
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through direct engagement with end users
  • Identify new business opportunities and market segments through data assessment
  • Support the sales team in crafting sales pitches
  • Consult with fleet managers and stakeholders to assess operational requirements
  • Provide solutions aligned with customer requirements and Autocar truck specifications
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor products
  • Relay customer feedback to internal product engineering teams
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on tailored vocational-application solutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in outside sales within the Heavy Truck, Construction, or similar industries
  • Proven track record in selling premium, high-value Construction products and/or services
  • Direct experience with successful Business-to-Business Heavy Truck OEM/Dealer Territory Sales preferred
  • Territory sales experience in other Construction and Service Sectors considered
  • Deep overall truck knowledge with the ability to consult and drive preference for Autocar
  • Good organization skills, with the ability to coordinate own call schedule and daily planning
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Skilled in building relationships externally and internally across a diverse mix of personas
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and using a CRM tool
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Strong work ethic, desire to succeed, strive for results, and win
  • Quick learner who requires minimal supervision and possesses good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to live within a reasonable distance of a commercial airport
  • Ability to cover California, Florida, Texas, or Mid-West areas
