About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, test, document, and maintain production-quality SDKs and reusable software components
- Develop across modern C#/.NET and modern C++, including managed/native interoperability
- Participate in architecture and design of developer-facing APIs
- Design intuitive, maintainable, evolvable APIs while minimizing breaking changes
- Address API compatibility, versioning, deprecation, and migration strategies
- Collaborate with Autodesk product and platform teams integrating the SDKs
- Contribute to technical discussions and represent team designs and decisions in engineering forums
- Develop comprehensive automated unit tests and contribute to integration, compatibility, consumer, and performance testing strategies
- Own build, packaging, CI/CD, artifact publishing, and release lifecycle
- Create and maintain NuGet packages and other artifacts, including versioning, signing, publishing, and dependency management
- Reason about complex dependency graphs and compatibility across managed and native components
- Maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, validating, packaging, and delivering software
- Use AI-assisted development tools with validation and engineering judgment
- Investigate unfamiliar technologies and technical problems, develop expertise, and share knowledge
- Contribute to other engineers’ growth through technical collaboration and informal mentoring
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong demonstrated software engineering skills and experience developing production-quality software
- Strong experience developing applications, libraries, or SDKs with modern C#/.NET and modern C++
- Experience working across C# and C++ boundaries or with comparable managed/native interoperability
- Ability to contribute effectively in both C# and C++
- Experience designing and implementing SDKs, libraries, or developer-facing APIs
- Strong understanding of API design principles and developer experience
- Experience evolving APIs while considering backward compatibility, versioning, and downstream consumer impact
- Strong experience with automated unit testing and designing software for testability
- Experience with software build, packaging, dependency management, and continuous integration practices
- Experience with source control and collaborative software development workflows
- Strong technical communication skills
- Ability to work independently across unfamiliar technology areas and develop new technical expertise
- Practical experience using modern AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or comparable technologies
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted development responsibly, including validating generated code, managing context, maintaining software quality, and recognizing when additional investigation is needed
- A formal degree is not required; strong foundations in computer science and software engineering principles must be demonstrated through education, professional experience, or other technical work
- Preferred: experience with SDKs consumed by multiple products or teams; integration, compatibility, consumer/application, or performance testing; CloudBees or similar CI/CD platforms; NuGet packages; Artifactory or similar repositories; native and managed dependency graphs; computational geometry, CAD, or related domains; B-Rep, mesh, and primitive geometry; cross-platform native or .NET software, particularly Linux; profiling, debugging, or performance optimization; cloud systems and services; specification-driven development; API documentation, examples, or migration guidance
