About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own corporate technology covering identity and access, devices, offices and networks, the SaaS estate, and the IT side of security and compliance
Govern IT direction, spend and processes
Manage a first-line IT Support Engineer
Own Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including Global Admin and break-glass accounts, conditional access, and SSO/SCIM across the SaaS estate
Manage the lifecycle of laptops and mobiles across three countries, including procurement, Intune enrolment and configuration, patching, encryption, asset tracking, secure wipe, disposal and ownership transfer
Own joiner, mover and leaver procedures for employees and contractors
Run IT for the London and Gold Coast offices, including networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, physical access and meeting rooms
Set standards, provide remote support and train on-site IT contacts for New York and Gold Coast
Own the ticket queue, SLAs and satisfaction survey
Lead and develop the first-line IT Support Engineer and improve the AI assistant handling first-line support in Slack
Map audit controls to systems and practices, explain the setup to auditors and agree remediation
Produce audit evidence for device compliance, access reviews, firewall rule audits, physical security assessments and monthly HR security reviews
Coordinate corporate IT boundaries for the FedRAMP programme and US-restricted systems
Govern software purchasing, licensing, security and retirement; lead SaaS consolidation
Administer Claude and other AI accounts, MCP connectors and custom Slack integrations
Automate IT workflows using Slack workflows and Claude scheduled tasks
Govern renewals, vendor reviews and formal purchasing
Maintain IT policies through Information Security Governance Committee approval

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years in IT operations
At least 2 years in a lead or management role
Experience in a multi-office or largely remote company
Hands-on experience taking IT controls through at least two of ISO 27001/27017/27018, Cyber Essentials Plus, DCC, SOC 2 or IRAP
Experience mapping controls to implementation, preparing evidence and working directly with auditors
Current, hands-on administration experience across M365, Entra ID, conditional access, Intune, Defender, Exchange and SharePoint governance
Experience managing mixed macOS and Windows fleets through MDM with secure baselines and compliance reporting
Practical experience with office networking and firewall administration, including rule reviews and change control
Experience with Meraki and Fortigate
Experience owning renewals, negotiating with suppliers and running a purchasing process
Experience managing at least one person
Willingness to undergo national security vetting to at least BPSS level
Familiarity with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account structure, Cloudflare, domain registrars and certificate management is a bonus
Experience deploying, administering and using LLM tools for IT is a bonus
Comfort with Slack Workflow Builder and other low-code automation is a bonus
Experience with UK defence, Australian government or US federal requirements is a bonus
Microsoft 365/Azure administrator certifications or CompTIA Security+ is a bonus
