About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive quality strategy and technical direction across teams and systems
- Lead enterprise-level quality initiatives and influence architecture decisions
- Partner with engineering, product, architecture, and Quality thought leaders to identify risks and define test strategy
- Operate independently and elevate the effectiveness of the broader Quality organization
- Lead definition and execution of test strategy for an assigned Scrum team
- Identify risks early and influence design decisions to ensure solution testability and scalability
- Lead automation strategy, including framework design, maintainability, and CI/CD integration
- Identify and mitigate systemic quality risks across teams
- Mentor and guide engineers on automation practices, test strategy, AI, and quality engineering standards
- Promote testing, automation, and quality engineering best practices across the organization
- Participate in cross-team initiatives affecting quality strategy, tooling, and engineering practices
- Explore, design, build, and demonstrate AI-driven solutions for test strategy, automation, defect analysis, and risk identification
- Use AI to identify test coverage gaps, edge cases, functional risks, and non-functional risks
- Apply AI to accelerate root cause analysis using logs, test results, and system behaviors
- Create reusable AI-enabled tools, scripts, and workflows
- Train engineers on responsible AI usage and share learnings across teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including leading testing efforts in complex, high-scale environments with an automation-first approach
- 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and evolving automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Expertise in JavaScript, Python, or C# automation development
- Experience with development tools and IDE ecosystems such as VS Code or Eclipse
- Expert experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in cloud concepts, including AWS and Azure environments, deployments, and cloud-hosted architectures
- Ability to troubleshoot complex automation and pipeline failures
- Strong understanding of API automation, service virtualization, and test data management
- Ability to determine optimal API, UI, and integration test layering
- Ability to lead and influence automation architecture decisions
- Ability to mentor engineers in automation best practices, framework usage, and test design
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed services, data systems, and cloud-based platforms
- Ability to use AI-enabled testing practices responsibly with human oversight
- Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment
