About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as liaison between Availity’s technical teams, health plan analysts, Strategic Account Managers, and strategic health plan partners
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with strategic payer partners
  • Act as a trusted advisor and represent the customer voice internally and organizational interests externally
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards
  • Provide customer service and support to build long-term client relationships
  • Serve as primary operational escalation point for strategic payer partners
  • Support assigned accounts with accountability, issue escalation and resolution, and product implementations
  • Support re-contracting activities, including pricing, proposals, administration, negotiations, and customer presentations
  • Obtain, use, and summarize competitive data to support account growth
  • Coordinate implementation of new functionality for assigned payers
  • Monitor industry and competitive trends and apply marketplace knowledge to account planning
  • Coordinate marketing, management, and technical resources for account up-sell objectives
  • Communicate regularly with accounts through newsletters, email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
  • Identify and qualify opportunities to up-sell products or services
  • Monitor and support retention through volume analysis and account penetration
  • Report progress and goal accomplishment using performance metrics
  • Build interdepartmental relationships and maintain Relationship Account Plans
  • Travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 years of account or customer management experience in healthcare, payer, provider relations, or technology environment
  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent work experience; bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings and engaging multiple stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Collaborative team-player approach
  • Knowledge of healthcare payer processing, provider/hospital office operations, customer service, and IT operations
  • Problem-solving ability and ability to translate business problems into potential solutions
  • Ability to interpret technical issues and translate them into actionable business impacts
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to monitor SLA adherence and create process improvements
  • Ability to use data to identify operational improvement, payer adoption growth, and issue prevention opportunities
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, and proactive
  • Awareness of implementations, production support efforts, strategic programs, and roadmap initiatives
  • Ability to identify dependencies, risks, blockers, and competing priorities
  • Sound judgment and discretion
  • HIPAA knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to remain collaborative during high-stakes environments and escalations
  • Ability to thrive in rapidly changing and ambiguous environments
  • Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end
  • Knowledge of technical systems integration and systems such as Salesforce, Jira, Gainsight, and Confluence
  • Experience with a large national payer is an advantage
  • Must pass a drug test before beginning employment
  • Sponsorship is not available; employment eligibility in the United States is required
