About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as liaison between Availity technical teams, health plan analysts, Strategic Account Managers, and strategic health plan partners
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with strategic payer partners
- Act as a trusted advisor and represent the customer’s voice internally and organizational interests externally
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards
- Provide customer service and support to build long-term client relationships
- Serve as the primary operational escalation point for strategic payer partners
- Support assigned accounts as a point of contact for accountability, issue escalation and resolution, and product implementations
- Support re-contracting activities, including pricing, proposals, administration, negotiation preparation, and customer presentations
- Gather, use, and summarize competitive data to support account growth
- Coordinate implementation of new functionality with cross-functional teams
- Monitor industry and competitive trends and apply marketplace knowledge to account planning
- Identify and coordinate marketing, management, and technical resources for account up-sell objectives
- Communicate regularly with accounts through newsletters, email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
- Consult with health plan customers to identify and qualify up-sell opportunities
- Monitor and support retention through volume analysis and account penetration
- Report progress and goal achievement by updating performance metrics
- Build inter-departmental relationships to achieve individual and Account Management team objectives
- Establish, maintain, and update Relationship Account Plans
- Travel as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of account or customer management experience in healthcare, payer, provider relations, or a technology environment
- Associate degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent work experience; bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience facilitating meetings and engaging with multiple stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Collaborative team-player approach
- Knowledge of healthcare payer processing, provider/hospital office operations, customer service, and IT operations
- Problem-solving skills and ability to provide potential solutions
- Ability to interpret technical issues and translate them into actionable business impacts
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to monitor and create SLA adherence and process-improvement measures
- Ability to identify operational improvement, payer adoption growth, and issue-prevention opportunities using data
- Highly motivated, self-starting, proactive approach
- Awareness of implementations, production support, strategic programs, and roadmap initiatives affecting assigned accounts
- Ability to identify dependencies, risks, blockers, and competing priorities
- Ability to use discretion and make sound decisions
- HIPAA knowledge
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to remain collaborative during high-stakes environments and escalations
- Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end
- Knowledge of technical systems integration and operating systems such as Salesforce, Jira, Gainsight, and Confluence
