About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote suppliers and products within the VWR Furniture portfolio
  • Sell the VWR Lab Design and Furniture product portfolio within the Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and upstate New York territory
  • Assist customers with laboratory space design and product selection across educational, medical research, industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, production, and healthcare markets
  • Identify leads
  • Close transactional furniture opportunities and full lab renovation and expansion projects
  • Train VWR general representatives on the furniture program and motivate them to sell target product areas
  • Communicate with sales representatives, customers, suppliers, estimators, designers, project coordinators, and installers
  • Manage the furniture portfolio in the local area and communicate sales goals, trends, and performance
  • Ensure the VWR Furniture Program remains best-in-class
  • Own the territory with general sales representatives and management by attending regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes, and on-site technical seminars
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS degree in construction science or related scientific area preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3–5 years sales experience preferred
  • Construction sales a plus
  • Divisions 10, 11, 12 experience a plus
  • Ability to understand architectural plans and specifications
  • Ability to prepare material take-offs and estimate costs
  • Experience in project management a plus
  • Ability to use AutoCAD a plus
  • Solid communication, organizational, time-management, and PC skills
  • Self-starter able to implement programs, recognize opportunities, communicate ideas, and act with little direction in a fluid and matrixed environment
  • Willingness to travel overnight
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 3 days a week
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
