About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell products and/or services to assigned clients and identify new and potential customers
  • Negotiate, sell, install or deliver products/services, and provide post-sale services
  • Secure and maintain product/service distribution and effective agreements
  • Support a sales territory on a focused account base as part of a dedicated sales team
  • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering proposals
  • Sell consultatively, determine customer needs, and recommend VWR solutions
  • Develop strategic account business plans to achieve sales growth and quota attainment
  • Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty
  • Manage VWR’s product portfolio and execute sales and marketing strategies
  • Generate quotations and handle customer returns or complaints
  • Pull sales reports and discuss sales activities, account performance, and forecasts
  • Work with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience
  • Some sales experience preferred
  • Business-to-business or distribution sales experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 4 days a week
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
