About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a large territory of customer accounts as the primary post-sale contact
- Conduct face-to-face meetings and communicate via phone, email, and video conferencing
- Close sales, provide ongoing support, and ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and growth
- Respond to inquiries and provide consultative guidance on products and services
- Execute sales strategies and generate performance reports
- Identify opportunities to increase sales volume while maintaining service excellence
- Mentor less experienced sales representatives and contribute to regional sales strategy
- Consultatively sell Avantor’s products and services by determining customer needs and making recommendations
- Implement company marketing plans, sales strategies, and sales processes
- Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Develop strategic territory business plans with sales management
- Manage the product portfolio and execute company-defined sales and marketing strategies
- Prospect for and establish new customers through pipeline management and customer proposals
- Expand Avantor’s role with existing customers through retention strategies
- Represent and build relationships with manufacturers
- Work with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience working in a complex sales environment with multiple purchasing decision-makers and solution-based selling
- Proven, verifiable sales success driving growth through consultative, strategic selling
- Laboratory or research environment experience and/or distribution experience and a scientific background preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Teams
- CRM systems and QlikView experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 5 days a week
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills
- Ability to conduct business conversations with business owners and decision makers
- Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
- Ability to work independently and manage time and territory successfully
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
