About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan territories, qualify opportunities, and close business within the analytical chemistry workflow
- Provide client solutions supporting customers’ next breakthrough discoveries
- Act as a subject matter expert in analytical chemistry
- Work within a matrix of general sales representatives, supply partners, portfolio, and marketing
- Deliver solutions aligned with customer requirements, specifications, long-term account goals, and company strategy
- Support generalist sales representatives and management by attending regional meetings, strategy sessions, key account blitzes, and on-site technical seminars
- Maintain strong external partnerships with manufacturers and industry experts
- Build customer relationships, understand customer needs, ask clarifying questions, and ensure timely delivery of solutions
- Identify opportunities, communicate ideas, and operate with limited direction in a fluid, matrixed environment
- Exhibit curiosity with customers and within the Avantor team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 3+ years chromatography experience
- Firm understanding of the analytical chemistry marketplace, including HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, FPLC, flash, purification, spectroscopy, ICP, and wet chemistry
- Valid Driver's License
- Willingness to travel to customer locations a minimum of 4 days a week
- Willingness to travel throughout the South-Central region of the U.S.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Preferred: Experience working in an analytical lab, including sample preparation and data analysis
- Preferred: Experience running, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instruments/equipment, including PM, IQ/OQ/PQ
- Preferred: Salesforce and SAP experience
- Preferred: Sales experience in a matrixed environment
