About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and implement advanced cloud-based applications and services
- Explore new cloud technologies and develop innovative solutions aligned with strategic goals
- Work with development and portfolio colleagues to bring secure, stable, and scalable solutions to the cloud
- Develop microservices and leverage serverless functions
- Advise development teams and contribute to improvements in operational stability, security, cost management, and reporting
- Develop and improve DevOps processes through optimization, automation, and reporting
- Respond to incidents to minimize customer impact and keep colleagues updated
- Oversee cloud deployments, track and report progress, and resolve or escalate release issues
- Proactively manage cloud environments, including infrastructure as code, certificates, storage, health status, and backup status
- Ensure new services meet operational readiness standards
- Ensure ongoing compliance with security practices and policies
- Provide subject matter expertise to business stakeholders
- Maintain accurate operational documentation
- Stay current on security industry trends, tools, and best practices
- Participate in occasional work outside standard hours and on-call rotations as part of a shared team rota
Requirements
What you’ll need- Overall 8+ years of experience in Software Development with exposure to working on Cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
- Strong programming skills, e.g. C#, .NET Core
- Knowledge of PowerShell or Node JS or Python scripting
- Proficient in containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of API, REST, microservices, serverless architecture
- Knowledge of Cloud Authentication protocols such as OAuth, Identity Servers, OpenID Connect and SAML
- Knowledge of Azure administration, Azure APIs, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, APIO Management, Service Bus, Event Grids, Storage Accounts and Key Vaults, or equivalent AWS experience
- Knowledge and experience of operational support, software development and deployment methodologies and principles
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Attention to detail, diligence and tenacity
- Excellent analysis and dissemination skills
- High degree of personal motivation and ability to self-manage
- Relevant industry and technology knowledge
- Certifications in Azure and/or AWS are desired
- Hands-on experience within an Information Security accredited framework, e.g. ISO27001, 27017/18, is desired
- Experience in Agile software development such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is desired
- Successful applicants must pass drug screening and a comprehensive background check before employment
- Proof of work authorization may be required under local laws
