About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver profitable revenue growth and achieve stated gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Utilize customer-centric selling skills and tools, including scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, prospecting, new account calls, sales funnel development, cross-selling, and CRM system management.
  • Collect accounts receivable and avoid bad debts.
  • Determine appropriate product grades, standard versus custom-compounded products, and competitive product pricing.
  • Work with the sales team to maintain and grow the sales territory.
  • Work directly and cooperatively with channel partners to close business based on customer purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain current accounts and develop new accounts by assessing customer needs and competitive pressures.
  • Travel as necessary to maintain and grow assigned accounts.
  • Serve as the primary company contact for assigned accounts.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other promotional settings as required.
  • Contribute to long- and short-term business planning, periodic and annual sales forecasts, and sales goal setting.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of inside sales, customer service, account management, or business development experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals, growing customer accounts, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes, pricing strategies, contract management, and customer relationship management.
  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems, such as SAP, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships while providing exceptional service and support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively negotiate and influence customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in order management, forecasting, and customer communications.
  • Experience mentoring or providing guidance to less experienced team members is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with customer service, supply chain, operations, and field sales teams to support customer growth and retention.
