About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead indication analysis to ensure rate adequacy of individual accounts
- Conduct pricing reviews of high-value complex portfolios and provide rate recommendations
- Develop alternative pricing solutions based on the unique characteristics of large accounts
- Evaluate and quantify credit risk for accounts with large retentions
- Collaborate with senior management, underwriters, and brokers to deliver pricing solutions
- Develop and execute a roadmap for continuous improvement of sophistication, efficiency, and analytical capabilities
- Drive portfolio monitoring and deliver pricing insights and understanding of portfolio performance
- Coach and mentor senior and junior analysts and co-op students
- Act as a role model for Aviva values and foster a positive, high-performing work environment
- Support pricing and profitability of commercial accounts with premiums above $2M and accounts involving complex or unique structures
- Provide actuarial analysis on Property, Casualty, and Auto products
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Minimum ACAS/ACIA, FCAS/FCIA is preferred
- 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience
- 3+ years of commercial pricing experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and multitask and prioritize
- Experience with SAS, VBA, Python, R, or other analytical tools is an advantage
