About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Transform sophisticated datasets into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
- Develop innovative pattern-recognition solutions using machine learning and statistical approaches
- Partner with Pricing on end-to-end data science projects for Commercial P&C Pricing
- Plan projects, process data, train models, obtain model acceptance, and conduct post-implementation monitoring
- Contribute to modelling best practices and improve team work quality and reproducibility
- Maintain data mining tools, frameworks, and approaches
- Communicate practical recommendations based on insights and model results
- Support model monitoring and validation, including identifying performance deterioration, portfolio shifts, and emerging segment behavior
- Work with business and technology teams on claims prediction, customer journey optimization, pricing insights, and automation
- Act as project manager, developer, modeler, and communicator as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educational background in computer science or engineering, math, statistics, physics, or a related field
- Minimum of an MSc required; PhD preferred
- 3+ years of experience with model development and working with large datasets, including experience from any industry or academia (post-doc experience)
- 3+ programming experience in Python
- Good grasp of software engineering standard methodologies such as code reusability, modularity, and use of reports
- Ability to draw inferences from data
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to translate complex algorithms to non-technical individuals
- Ability to work creatively, self-motivatedly, and lead projects independently
