About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct onsite inspections of insured locations to assess equipment condition, identify general risk exposures, and evaluate safe operating practices
  • Complete routine jurisdictional inspections
  • Assist with loss investigations by gathering claim information and supporting documentation
  • Prepare clear and concise inspection reports, translating technical findings into easy-to-understand language
  • Support repair approvals and follow-up documentation for quality assurance
  • Provide survey information to support underwriting and development of quotes for unique or complex accounts
  • Build positive working relationships with brokers and accompany them on site visits for marketing and client engagement activities
  • Support the GTA region and report to the Engineering Supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in building operations, commercial facility maintenance, industrial maintenance, or electrical/mechanical work
  • Post-secondary technical training, trades/apprentice training, or equivalent hands-on mechanical/electrical experience
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivation, strong organization, and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Suite and comfort working with databases
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
  • Power Engineering Class 3 or Class 2 preferred
  • Electrical or instrumentation background
  • Knowledge of ASME codes
  • National Board Commission or willingness to obtain if required
  • CIP or CRM designation
  • National Board Commission certification and TSSA jurisdictional inspection experience are strong assets
