About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Purchase and provide order fulfillment activities to support business demand and improve inventory turns and supplier on-time delivery
- Manage order status processes, including accurate shipping and delivery information in company systems
- Track, report, and communicate post-PO placement updates and manage PO backlogs
- Work with suppliers to meet delivery commitments and improve systems and processes
- Develop and manage supplier relationships and hold suppliers accountable for shipping and delivery commitments
- Negotiate supplier pricing and provide quotes to the sales team
- Work with warehouse, logistics, and transportation carrier teams to ensure timely receipt and delivery
- Manage non-conforming inventory, including product disposition and in-process failures
- Communicate order status and problem resolution to planners, sales, and customer operations
- Manage inventory aging and fill rate, including stock rotation and liquidations as appropriate
- Support organizational initiatives, project teams, and supplier management activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained
- Typically less than 2 years with bachelor's or equivalent
- Foundational knowledge of specialized disciplines, industry practices and standards, acquired via academic instruction and/or relevant work experience of substantially the same level
- Ability to develop solutions to defined tasks, typical assignments and projects using specialized foundational knowledge
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and discretion
- Ability to collaborate with immediate management and team members within the department or function
